Elri Barkhuizen, a proud senior from the Class of 2024, has always had a heart for working with children. During her senior year, she took her passion to the next level by completing an early childhood internship through a dual enrollment class at Morgan Community College. This experience brought her to BES first-grade classrooms regularly, where she made a meaningful impact on our students.
Now pursuing a Human Development and Family Studies degree at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Elri returned to Burlington over her winter break and joined the school district's substitute list. She's been a tremendous help at BES and BMS, stepping in and supporting our students with care and dedication.
We're so thankful Elri chose to spend part of her winter break in Burlington, working alongside the staff and making a difference for our students. We're incredibly proud of her accomplishments and grateful to have her on our team. We can't wait to welcome her back in May!
